Joined the mob this morning - posted a bit of useless info. and got some back too. Have read thru a few posts and liked what i saw. glad to be aboard. Anyway, have got one of the last of the Defender 90 300tdi's. Its an R reg. van with 5 times round the globe on the clock so its just run-in nicely! She's called Sally, Sally Gunnell that is-- ugly as f--ck but a good little runner. Dont do much off-road with her yet although have got a whoppin great set of 285/75/16 BFG's on ally rims on. v/good on tarmac tho but crap on the wallet. Am considerin whether to go down the mobile chippy route with her but using only a small percent firstoff and only unused veggy stuff from my local ali baba shoppy building up possibly to 75/25 in the summer then down to 25/75 when it gets wet and dark. Have got quite a bit of off-roading experience - has anyone heard of COP DRIVE and latterly 4WD Force? Navigated and drove in both events for several years during the eightys and ninteys both in LR's and quite a few other unmentionable four wheel drives. Aaah, those were the days. Three day events based at Tidworth or Bulford army barracks. Overnight navigational exercise, day safari then a day trialling and all on and around Salisbury Plain- fantastic. (You've never lived until you've eaten a british army full english at 7am after a late night lock in at the White Hart Inn (location deleted as i still visit occasionally). Sorry to digress; I would appreciate any helpful comments on my fuel thoughts and i will try to involve myself as much as poss. lookin 4ward to it.
