Hi all

Still deep in the build of the 90, and have a question for you all.

I am fitting a 2" lift using britpart yellow springs (2") and Britpart Cellular Dynamic Shocks, The front end had Terra Firma Tubular turrets fitted and it seems that the standard arms are at a slight angle now and the shocks (which are wider in girth than std) now rub the inside of the turrets where the tubes are welded to the base plate. I have read many posts about castor correction and Foundry 4x4 suggest as do many sites that anything up to and including a 2" lift do not require correction. Now i am at the stage of the build where changing this is still relatively easy as there is no body on yet. So your views on the following please:

I will be putting on a Superwinch PTO winch and bumper just for info.

  1. Should i just put std turrets on leaving the shocks at a slight angle but clearing the mounts
  2. Should i put on castor correction radius arms and can i do just the front or should front and back match?
  3. If i castor correct do i need new props?
  4. Have any of you done this?
Any help is as always greatly appreciated.

Matt

I had to correct the castor with my 2" lift because the steering was ****e. That then gave me propshaft vibration, so wide angle props were needed.
A better way of correcting castor is to fit corrected swivel balls - that doesn't put the prop at a funny angle.

With a 2" lift and the winch the front will drop with the extra weight anyway. So you'll end up with a 1.5" lift say. I think those new shocks must be very big to foul the turret. I fitted terra-firma shocks with their springs and the std turrets, it all works fine.
