Hi,
I'm working in France at the moment and have the opportunity to buy a 1997 "serie Aigle 2.5 TDi" (12000 Euros?) to get me up and down the mountains (I climb, walk, kayak, ski, canyoneer and ride motorcycle trails) and also use on the auto-routes for jurneys back to the uk. A friend who is a Land Rover enthusiast has checked out the vehicle and thinks that it is a safe purchase.
Does anybody have any tips as to what problems to look for? I'm sure this vehicle is good for the mountains but is it good on long motorway journeys?
Can it take a frame on the back to carry a 65kg trials bike?
Any basic tips would be appreciated at this stage.
Thanks in anticipation of any advise.

Hi, Don't worry about answering this question because I bought the Discovery this afternoon. Hoping it performs as well as the ones in your photo galleries.

Hi Steve. You shouldn't have any problems with it if you keep it serviced.

I use my 1994 300Tdi for long motorway journeys and off roading and it is supberb at both.
