timing settings for 2L petrol

Hi guys

a friend over the road is putting together a Discovery 2l petrol K ser 93

he has reached a point where he is stuggling to find info on setting the timing for it

so after a quick mooch through the landrover forums i have settled for you guys

any help would be great

Ok, are we talking valve timing or ignition timing?

just had a word with him they seem to think they need both

he has a new belt he is putting on

also the torquing sequence when putting the head back on

you want to bin it as its underpowered for the disco which is why it got binned by land rover. get hold of a 200 fer it, you know it makes sense.

Slob got to agree with you there a 2 L engine in this is well strained

but he does have hardly any funds but has all the bits to go back on this engine so is really a case of needs must and he hopes with this info he can get it all running again
