Hi Landians
I am a new owner of a 2014 FL2 TD4 S
I paid £4800 for it and it is an ex police car from Greater Manchester division.
I assume this high millage was mainly motorway use and not urban use.
They released the car at 148,903 miles in 2020 and it has had 1 owner since who took it to 169,272.
The car has no issues, other than an advisory on slightly worn suspension arm pin bushes. The police serviced the car 4 times a year. It drives really well and smooth with no display LED faults. The question is should I replace the timing chain/ kit ?
Appreciate your responses.

The timing chain is inside the engine and only changed if it wears.

The timing belt needs changed on the FL2 diesels every 105k miles, or 7 years.

If yours is an ex police vehicle that's possibly been ragged a bit during it's life... and you don't know when the timing belt was last changed... I would change it if it were mine.

The FL2 diesel is a Peugeot DW12 engine. And quite a good one anorl. ;)

Thanks for reply and I decided to get it done along with the water pump.
The garage did a 32 point check and I have a slight oil seepage from the crankshaft seal but this would require engine out. So will just keep an eye on the oil level.
