timing belt?

do 1995 300tdi have timing belts? i've just bought a disco and need to know if its worth changing belt. if so can anyone recomend anybody in sheffield/ rotherham area to do job and what sort of cost am i looking at?

yes they do.
do it yerself - aint that hard.

it is a easy job get the belt it will take you all of 5 mins

yep got the kit meself and it's still in the shed !

DIY ... only cost is materials ...

DCV (Used to be RCV) in Doncaster are good, but pricey at about £300 ish, I believe.

Is it my eyesight, or is that pot white? Too long working in an under-lit garage this evening.

Birdy, if you google 'discovery timing belt change' then you'll find loads of useful step-by step guides. Get stuck in, only when you've got the grease under your nails is it truly yours!

buy your parts locally, not mail order, as there were two designs of tensioner, idler, and bottom pully for a 300 timing belt.

I stripped mine down to find the replacements I had in hand were wrong!
