i've put up with the knackered gearbox for about 7 months and 6-7000 miles, it's just got much worse, so the time has come to replace it, reading through the magazine adverts i have come across a few different suppliers and big differences in the price, from £375 inc VAT to well over £500, can anybody give me some advice, i don't want to spend more than i need to , but is the cheaper one false economy? they all seem to have 12 month warranty

Yeah thats true, Ashcrofts are the best for landy transmissions.

Might wanna think about getting your t-case re-conned at the same time, while they have the gearbox out.

Having an R380 done by ashcrofts will cost you near enough a grand though.

Na then disco dan

Mine went "pop" in August and can highly recomend these people up North after phoning everwhere they were the only people to be able to deliver & collect in France!

David Beaumont 4x4 Gearbox Specialists

£450 + vat for a R380 recon box, they also put a new "crossed drill pinion" that can be goosed in the transfer box and would only charge me if I needed it! which I did and makes a lot of difference, better drive, lot less "clonky"

Good Luck

Jason
