Time to buy a defender.

I currently live in the south of Turkey and have done so for the last seven years. Had a great time small time farming (peanuts, melons, sweetcorn, tomatoes etc), fishing, shooting (wild boar, rabbits, pigeon and (RSPB members look away) blackbirds and sailing. However, a new woman has come into my life and I will be spending future years partly in Ingerland (Harpenden, Herts) and partly in Turkey.

Many years ago when I lived in Edinburgh I had a 1952 80" which I loved but somebody made me an offer for it I couldn't refuse. I should have as it was mint and I regret it every time I think about it.

I intend to do some shooting and fishing whilst in the UK and would also like to do some green laning so I am in the market for a Defender. I have decided I want a 300 TDI CSW or van. I been looking for a decent unmolested one for a few months on Autotrader and Ebay and they are few and far between at a reasonable price.

I see that there are a few folk on this forum who are based in Herts and I hope to meet up with them shortly for advice and guidance - I unnderstand that there is a meet every first Wednesday in a pub in Dunstable. Anybody here who can confirm that these meetings are still taking place?

I think we need to make a plan next pub meet I'm now up and running in my 90 so I am happy to start laning agian.

I will try and sort out some night laning trips as soon as we have cleared some of the lanes as they are very overgrown at the moment

As Tazz says the meetings still go ahead and everyone is welcome first Wednesday of the month in Dunstable on the A5 at the white lion pub chalkhill.
