Time for a new exhaust system….any suggestions!?

I have now found Britpart, Bearmach etc and so on alternative parts.


Martyn; that's real helpful though as I am looking for something more on the sports orientated front. Will check it out now!

Am also unsure what the difference between 100 cpsi and 200 cpsi is...anyone else?! :confused:

CPSI as I now understand is Cells Per Squar Inch.

I thought only Californian Spec P38s have post-cat Lambdas?

Plugging my 99 into an OBDC reader shows the post-cat Lambdas outputting a rock-steady (ie dummy) voltage.

The good bit!:
The new exhaust will be ready in about a week and a half. :)


The bad bit!:
I have been looking for a cat and manifold upgrade and have so far struck out :(
Janspeed who are making the exhaust used to do an upgraded sport cat and manifold set but have now discontinued both lines.


Does anyone know where or who does an upgraded sports cat system? I can live without doing the manifolds as this will save me a few quid in labor!

What about a stainless steel made for the car, in Birmingham we have a company that will do a custom exhaust for the rangey, i had one made, and had a choice on how it would sound, also what tailspipes were fitted, had a little attitude built in, it also increased the power by about 10% and i have a lifetime of no rust problems. It cost me £490 and i think thats a good investment. There has be someone in your neck of the woods that could do the same.

Just realised why all the V8 lads spend mega bucks on silly exhaust systems. The throaty roar drowns out the sound of the tappet rattles, crank rumble, big ends knocking, heads blowing and steam escaping. :D:D:D

noise and power in a v8 (well as long as not a RV8 they just make noise and consume ridiculous amounts of fuel for no output)

I may be bias with 261hp though
 
If i was so concerned with MPG figures i wouldn't be driving a 2+ tonne 4x4.....but currently 16-17 MPG on LPG which equates to approx 18p / mile

The 4.7 in the Porsche sounds great and kicks out 320 BHP, but i would much rather it sounded like a diesel with a little less power and did 28 MPG rather than the 12 it seems to manage.:D:D:D
