Come on clutchdust here's one for you! If i disconnect the leads off the battery then touch them together then reconnect the battery will this reset the slabs ecu?

In a word, No!!! It won't do anything except discharge any residual current in the ecu's.
What do you mean by reset? clear fault codes?

On disco3 and RR sport, doing what you suggest will carry out a "hard reset" to the infotainment system and will be a temporary fix for software issues such as CD player not ejecting and clock disappearing.

Cheers mate, the abs lights are on again and I need to reset them to find out if it is a sensor again or if it was a handfull of gravel on the road(I felt it loose traction on one corner) that fired them up again, It's costing me £40 each time the diagnostics are plugged in thats all and someone sugested this method to clear the faults but was a bit weary so just thought I'd ask the question. Thanks for the imput ;)
