throttle sensor

Hi all i think my throttle position sensor is on the way out when i replace it do i need to get my rangie put on a diagnostic machine to re calibrate / re set it. i have a 4.6 thor engine rangie.

Do try cleaning it first, as well as the stepper motor. A few good blasts of carb cleaner (not contact cleaner), also in the maf sensor and a new air filter. I do this whenever I change the air filter and it keeps it running smooth. In my case I have a Hawkeye so can (and do) reset the ECU adaptive trims. But even if you don't the trims will adapt by themselves over a few hundred miles.

Hi would i need to take the throttle sensor off and has it got a gasket, i know its a silly question but i want to be sure. thanks
