Thread type -clutch master cover plate

Anyone know what the thread type is on the screws that fix the clutch master cylinder cover plate?
M5 looks a tad to big
Mine is a 1985 also. Don't know if the threads vary on the older/newer models?

On a 1985 vehicle, it could be that those are Imperial fixings.
British Leyland tended to use whatever they had in the parts bin at the time.

My 1990 90 has plenty of imperial fixings.

I drilled all mine out and retapped next size up in metric. Stainless bolts used.

But yes maybe re-tapping is the best idea actually. I've got same nice stainless M5s already
