this cold running thermostat jammed open business

just to put my mind at rest , would running it cold (temp gauge between nothing and quarter hot), at speed (60 +) cause smoke from my exhaust (it was running crystal clear before) and oil in my air filter box?

but surely a cold engine will breath more than a hot one?
i did drive it 80 odd miles stone cold.

well thats just silly isnt it...

get a thermo for under £10 and unscrew 3 bolts and wack the new one in. job done!
