Fitting centre console soon so starting to plan it out.
Got starter button, stop button, 52mm clock, 52mm voltmeter, 52mm oil.temp gauge, 52mm fuel gauge, 52mm boost (not needed) and some aircraft style flip switches to turn the gas/petrol on and off.
Think I'll have a top row of 3 gauges, volts, clock and fuel, then second row of switches with starter and stop buttons in the middle.
Dont know if the radio will go in below that or will the gearlever smack it?
Might be enough that anyway and put the radio and CB at the bottom of the cubby box.

just thinking

what guages have you got in the 3 standard positions ?

why do you need a fuel on/off switch ?

are you trying to make your vehicle more knickable by giving the impression that it is laden with electical goodies ?

Gonna make me own:cool:

1. Fuel - Temp - RPM

2. to switch off petrol when switching on to gas cause I dont like tha likkle plastic switch thingy

3. Why would someone wish to nick it for some switches and it will be imobilised so they cant. Also I'll leave the door open like I do on my truck so no forced entry and they can take what they want cause I leave nowt in it;)

And in answer to the next question...because I like gauges and switches:pop2:

 me too!

have you seen the mad man engine management kit? does loads of the things gauges do but doesnt eat up all of the space. price works out quite well if you bought them all seperately as VDO gauges. you are going for VDO gauges arnt you?

G

Fraid I'm from a different age.
Was thinkin of puttin speedo and rev counter in front of the driver in the pod and stickin a dash similar to mudstuff but home made with the gauges and switches in.
Got speedo and rev counter to match as below and got loadsa gauges in the dash below + more in a big box in the garage.
An a MUST have big red starter button. I've got a little black one at the mo.
Also got a big red stop button offov a conveyor belt ta match tha start button`.
nuffin digical cause a likes needles an gauges and chrome bezzles an stuff:D

If ye make it like the mud stuff dash then yer gearstick won't hit yer radio as long as ye cut out the bottom dash..

..and my radio has a flip down front and still don't hit it;) :D

That's the sort of thing I'm lookin at but homemade.
Got to get the ign key in as well cause it all jammed up an I've got the barrel taped to the dash at the mo cause couldn't be arsed puttin it back after I fixed it an took starter button wires of it.

Got about 2sq mtrs of leather cloth left over from trimmin me old Mini but it's red so might use it an paint it black or pink or summat.

The old speedo binacle in front of the driver is falling to bits and nowt to hold it on with, all clips broke so will redesign that with matching speedo an rev counter from a 60's MG and move the warning lights next to switches on middle except oil light which will stay in front of the driver.

Just need a steering wheel boss so as I can try some of the steering wheels I got hangin about.

Ignition barrel could go opposite side to your land rover badge.

just thinkin an plannin:D hope not to upset any landy purists by alterin tha dash from standard:pound:
