Thermostat housing plug?.............

Hi,

After a number of stupid questions on the Series forum, here's one on this one;

when replacing the plastic thermostat housing plug with a brass one (with O ring washer); firstly do you use any sealant, and how tight do you do it up.

I have looked on the forum, and haynes manual, not that helpful.

Sorry, it's a 300tdi. Not the rad plug, I understand it's called a thermostat housing plug.

ere Sean - aint the 300TDi gorra plastic rad plug in the thermostat housing - so i assume its the same - and you do it up tight enuf not to leak. Out of interest how much did yu pay fur it - coz a household radiator drain plug is the same - and about 99p - and thems yu put in with a bit og hermatite and then use the key to bleed.

go fur a household one - yu dont need to remove it to bleed off the air then. - and they are cheaper.
