Should be easy, wasn't :(

Heat in the cab was taking some time to get going, and top rad hose was getting warm before it should, so I thought a thermostat change was in order.

First, expansion hose off, dropped jubilee clip, didn't hit the floor :(

Second, bottom bolt on housing stuck, applied a bit more force, and my socket snapped :( ended up hammering on a slightly smaller socket, and eventually it let go with that awful 'crack'.

Third, Thermostat wouldn't come out, so top hose off the housing to lever from the other end. Nothing to lever..... Hose off the back of the housing, and intake hose, to push out from the rear? Still no good. Managed eventually to prise out the seal which then pulled the thermostat out. This revealed the reason for the lack of heat - super short thermostat, and a 90 degree one....

Fourth - new thermostat also too short, and doesn't close off the top hose to the rad. I'm assuming it should when cold? Also, it didn't want to fit back in the housing, so warmed the rubber, and got it central, then nipped up the housing to press it home.

Hoses back on, coolant topped up, start her up CLATTER CLATTER BANG CLATTER. Turned off, more pumping of hoses, and a bit of silicon on the belt. Much better, then CLATTER CLATTER!
Appears to be a lack of water in the pump causes it, so more bleeding, and eventually quiet.

The temp comes up a bit quicker, as I guess the thermostat is restricting the cold flow a little at least....

You can see the difference in the thermostats, only issue now, is foamy coolant :(
