the width of lightweight SIII

hi, newby here. I've just bought a replacement 80" hood for my SIII lightweight (air-portable?) and it seems to be a good bit too wide. On the web i've read the Lightweights were built 4" narrower to save on, you guessed it, weight, but the people i bought the hood from say one hood fits all... Can anyone confirm whether that's right or not?

I've had plenty of lightweights mate, and i've swaped hood's from my series landys to the lightweights with no hassle.

Thanks for this Stratie... just to get it clear in my head - you've exchanged the hood on that lightweight in the pic with a normal series and have had no width related problems?
if so, then my new hood which is 4 inches too wide has either been made wrong or i have a strange narrow lightweight series 3. i'm beginning to realise that nothing is beyond the realms of possibility in the world of landrover.
