So, as some of you know, I purchased Saint.V8's L322 and have been doing some work to bring it up to snuff. As all my cars get female names starting with the same letter as the model, and because he spent so much time working on her, I decided to name this one St Rachel.

So far she has had:
  • Complete new braking system
  • New hubs on all 4 wheels (only needed one but I thought, why not?!)
  • New tyres on all 4 wheels
  • New gearbox and torque convertor
  • New drivers seat valance
  • Complete service
  • LPG service, remap and filler cap
  • Front passenger drink holder

On order:
  • Complete new exhaust and cats
  • 2010 body kit
  • New headlights and tail lights
  • New badges and lettering
  • Replacement door cards
  • Replacement dash panel
  • Replacement passenger wing mirror

Need to order:
  • CD autochanger
  • Flip keys
  • Rear wiper arm and motor
  • New parking sensors (ar*ehole neighbours have backed into the front and back - quite deliberately)
  • Front and rear cameras
  • Interior rear pillar trim both sides (damaged it transporting some chairs...)
  • Replacement centre console air vent as mine is loose on the bottom

I also need to figure out the heating system as it blows very hot on a hot day, and very cold on a cold day, irrelevant of what settings have been chosen.

Future things:
  • Can I upgrade the stereo to the later touchscreen model, and if so, does it have an aux input?
  • Change the trim panels as the foundry grey is peeling. I know a place that can hydro-dip them.
Is the ski bag the only thing to go in the centre rear seat or were there other options? There isn't much call for skiing in my village...

Does anyone know if the first aid box under the passenger seat fits under the drivers seat too? I'm nowhere near her at the moment to check it myself. I want somewhere to store all my "going-to-France" kit so if it fits, I'll order another box.

On my travels through the interwebs I saw a photo of a leather-clad centre console (the bit between the seats with the gearstick and ignition). Unfortunately I didn't save it and I can not find it either. Does anyone know if this was an option in any particular model, or was it more likely a custom job?

Far future things:
  • Change the wheel rims
  • Vinyl wrap in dark matte grey

Sorry Saint, I really don't like those bullbars! Once the new body kit is on, those will go up for sale with the lightguards too.

Cheeky fecker....:D:D

Pluribus has done a sterling job and gone much further than I could ever have done due to my personal circumstances, hence why I sold her as she needed work done but I could not do her any justice and I had to draw a line and go to some one who could lavish some hard-earned on her to do the work she needed....I did my best for her by selling her on rather than leaving her to go further and further downhill and end up as one of those unloved wrecks you often find on ebay!

He is also doing some upgrades and making the car his own which is great news.

Another thing I remembered I need to order is a new heated windscreen (I large chip when I bought it, 2 smaller since then and the heated bit only heats one side - and its not mine...) and also a new heated steering wheel. I've seen a nice dual colour leather one to match my interior on powerfuluk.com, but it's a tad expensive. Any other recommendations? Where is the cheapest place to get a new heated screen?

Can anyone point me in the direction of that leather covered centre console I mentioned?

Pay the excess on your insurance policy

Yes they are expensive at North of 700 foldings.

Mine cracked during (honest guv;)) a non fault collision so requested a genuine article.
The first screen ordered rattled somewhat in it's packaging so I had to endure a further miserable week in an X3 M-sport whilst a second one was ordered and fitted. RR felt mahoosive getting back into her.

Spoken like a true gent. If only we were all so lucky to buy our vehicles from someone like yourself Ant and the vehicles lucky enough to be owned by you. After years of following all the work you put into maintaining her and help the rest of us maintain ours, I can only say you did the right thing in getting some breathing space for you and your family. When you eventually come back to RR, whoever gets the Defender will be as lucky as Pluribus was in getting the RR

Yay! Yet another thing to replace as its gone wrong! Woohooo!

This time, ladies and gents, its the turn of the transfer box. Replaced the gearbox and TC for genuine new parts and still getting the dreaded transmission failsafe error.

Can anyone recommend somewhere or is it off to fleabay for me?
