I thought I'd share for your entertainment.

Took the two rear and spare wheels off today to tidy them up - wire brushed, degreased, dried, masked ready for priming.....and then thought, I'd best be amsking the valve as well.

Went to take the valve cap off - wouldn't budge. Tried penetrating fluid, pliers, heat but it wasn't having it.

Fearful I'd tear the valve out the rim, and out of frustration - took to the cap with an angle grinder.

Think the greater heat created (or the vibration) freed them, and they then undid nicely. They won't be going back on, and from looking at them I think they are (were!) aluminium so must have formed a lovely oxidisation onto the brass valves - marvellous:mad:

Process now repeated 5 times:D:D:D

The worst words we hear in the garage are 'While it's here, can you just............' Whatever it is, they think it is a 5 min job but it ends up taking half a day.
