Hello All in the forum, maybe someone can shine some light on this?
Having had all sorts of landies over the years , I just bought a E reg white N/A diesel SWB defender. The Hi/Lo transfer lever would not go into the Lo selection, Ok in Hi and would shift to neutral ok then stop. On inspection there was a what looked like a factory fitted blanking plate in front of the transfer gear lever to prevent the shift into low ratio !! The Lever selection plate on the bulkhead showed the usual gear positions .
Now for the strange bit........ the lever will now shift into the LO position , but it is still in a high range!1 So you have Hi in Hi position ok in neutral and Hi in the Lo position . The lever feels like it is moving the shafts ok ?
Can anyone shine some light on tis please ,,,, cheers Mark
