Hi
starting again.. For as long as can remember my favorite vehicle was 109's especially the safari. I was 56 before I got one ( did spend a month on safari in Tanzania in 2006, cheapest safari we could arrange) I was between projects then.
Now I have one !! Two years on sarge (safari) as proved beyond doubt best vehicle I have ever owned (had some interesting cars all fast and tbh boring..) spent most of my working life launching cars I would never own or want Roll-Royces ( as a coppersmith working in experimental in the 1980s) in the late nineties and up to 2008 worked on projects launching Jaguar - Bentley - Aston Martins - Tesla roadster (Louts), then moved into wind turbine manufacture working on V112 Vesta's turbine launch followed by some small projets one being an amphibious truck capable of 70-mph on-road 4X4 and 50 knots on water 9 (a bit of a lame duck that one ..).
For the last few years been developing my own project building 3 D printer machines, but over the last year the direction has changed as it has for everyone, so now have a large volume printer for whatever comes along, no longer wanting to participate in mainstream manufacturing and have moved into the restoration of old machines mainly pre 1980's ride-on mowers, etc and at my age, you either reinvent yourself or grow old and die lol
If you think about restoring and optimizing series land rovers and old machinery definitely a sustainable process they already exist we make them last another fifty-years at least until the next restorer comes along.
Over the next three months intend to finish the restoration of the sarge, must add we have a smallholding and he works hard fetching carrying and in some cases rescuing me ou6 of silly situations, our towable backhoe ended up in the river stuck without our the safari would still be there..
The current project I have started is to create a new Loom one that can be maintained and added to easily should be fun last time produced a loom was twenty years ago, although have developed one for printers but defo not the same,,

Note :
never been part of a forum before can barely text - emails yes but more work-based so forgive me if I have this introduce thing wrong - also worth saying very dyslexic and even with spell check I get very wrong a lot lol
