40 Vehicles/80 people @ € 385,00 per person plus € 45,00 per vehicle.

= € 32600

Must be expensive road books :D

-8% of the registration fees donated to local organizations (hospital, orphanages, etc)
-3 generic assistance vehicles and 3 teams (1 driver and a local scout)
-1 first aid vehicle and team (1 doctor and male nurse)
-2 basic mechanical assistance vehicles and teams (1 enginer and assistant)
-fuel and ferry transportation for assistance vehicles and teams
-welcome at the arrival of each leg
-starting and arrival areas in Saranda
-fixing of some ruotes for small landsliding
-printed road-books in 2 languages (and translations)
-insurance for organization vehicle and personnel
-maps

These are the primary costs to organize the event ....... then you have a lot of small things. But if you feel this information like a spam I'm asking to the Admin/Moderators to take it off.

Hi has anyone visited Morocco recently? Basically is it safe.
My other question is, is it really necessary to go on one of these organised trips. They seem to be a lot of money to follow some guide on his holiday.
I am thinking along the lines of getting a group together and organising it ourselves.
What are your thoughts guys?

I'm not knocking the guy who started this thread at all - nor do I want to hi-jack it. He is fullfilling a need and good on him.

But YES-you CAN do it all yourself. If you are querying the cost and the motives of the leader etc. you will probably not enjoy the experience.

Can't help with recent info on Morocco but if you're keen, get a few like-minded people and research it - I think you've just already started - go for it.

My wife and I've been going to Albania and lots of other parts that used to be considered 'no-go' areas for the last 20 years - it's been a great experience - but I would not have liked to be part of a big group - but that's us.

We sometimes met these 'expeditions' and came to the conclusion that they were a good idea for those who for one reason or another would never visit the Eiger or the Dachstein or Montenegro, on their own. A big group gives some people a feeling of security and that's fine.

There are others amongst us who do not emblazon their vehicles with slogans like 'Torquay to Timbuctoo', but just get on with it and go there.

Do your own thing and enjoy it, mate.
