Thanks everyone for advice on overhauling the propshafts on my 2002 Disco II. The vibes/shudder problem was half solved when I replaced all four cross pieces, then three quarters solved when I replaced the doughnut. But it wasn't 100% solved until I changed the locator bearing in the double cardon UJ.
The bearing had utterly had it and changing it has made all the difference. I had to order it from Rockauto.com in the States, who shipped it to Bahrain quickly and at a resonable price. I'd recommend anyone overhauling their UJs to order the bearing in advance just in case. Hoping the cross-pieces alone would do the job meant I ended up having my Disco off the road for twice as long as it should have been.
