just received my terrafirma 2" medium lift kit, however when i placed the rear springs beside the front springs they are a different height:confused:

is this normal:confused:

checked the terrafirma web site and i have the correct part numbers on the spring boxes

thanks Treworgey 90, had read your thread where you fitted your set

all springs marked what side forward and rear so thats no problem just when i set everything out on the garage floor i noticed the front springs where a different height:drama: :drama: :drama:

so if this normal then ok:D :D :D however cant get my head aound why this is:eek:

Treworgey 90I'd be interested to hear if you get propshaft vibration after fitting it

once i have her built i will let you know:confused:

should have her completed end of Jan fingers crossed, shes getting a replacement galvanised chassis:D :D :D :D

what you mean Vic is buy 1st, fit 2nd and think 3rd (after 10,000 miles) ;)

Pretty much what I did, Buy the kit, fit it and then spend loads of time and money sorting the problems associated with fitting the lift - mainly the annoying vibration through transmission, I'm sure others will agree (eh Trewey)

the old series land rover leaf springs were different between the off side and near side, the near side sat slighty higher than the off side, this was to 'correct' the camber of the road. i cant say if its the same with coil springs though ?

Fook there's some idjeeets on ere in there??? The different spring height was to compensate for the weight inbalance inherent in all landys. Due to having offset axles.

not according to the old guy who i know and has rebuilt more series land rovers than anyone i know. it was he who told me about the hight difference in springs and untill then i never knew there was any difference. if a full tank of fuel would make a difference to how the land rover sits i would have to say the springs are fooked but i cant quite understand why offset axles would make a difference either ?
