Has any body fitted Terrafirma All Terrain shocks to the front of a Defender lately? I fitted these along with new standard height springs and Terrafirma turrets.
What I found was when tightned up the lower threaded part of the shock absorber just touches the top of the axle, it is as if the threaded stud is too long, I felt as if I could have tightned the lower nut more, but this would have made it tight against the axle. (I have the rubber bushes and washers as per Terrafirma's instructions)!
I wondered if I should cut the end off? This will mean I loose the flats on the end of the shaft, although that's not a real problem.

Also since doing this I have a slight vibration, I did have to put a jack in between the chasis and the axle to get the front springs out and wonder if I might have overstreched a UJ on the front prop shaft?

Thanks, Gordon. (90 TDI 300)

ive got terrafirma +5's and had this problem, also had the same problem with pro comps,i allways just tighten em till there just touching axle and never had no problem

i had this problem with my pro comps, i cut the end off with the air saw and found the nut went a hell of a lot further after i cut it off.
