Terrafirma shock advice

Today I removed my rear shocks and was surprised to find one was 2" shorter than the other! I have a 1998 defender 110 with Terrafirma 2" lift springs and Terrafirma all terrain shocks. Both shocks are TF117 but the longer one is 08/09 and the shorter one is 12/07. The diameter of the mounting pin is also smaller on the 12/07.
I've had a look on the Terrafirma website but can only see one size of TF117 shock?!?

Anyone got any ideas what’s going on here?

I believe they made a few design alterations at one stage, one of which was increasing the size of the mounting stud/pin due to lots of failures when used heavily off road.

From the sounds of it you've got one old model and one newer one... someone probably broke one and fitted a new'un, thinking they would be the same.

Thanks Langers, I thought it must be something likt that. I'll buy a new shock today, thank goodness they sell them individually!
