I'm in the middle of full dash out so I can fix the Stuck Distribution Flaps . . . .but have a couple of questions:

  1. I want to test the Blend Motors with the HEVAC before I put the whole dash back in, so does anyone know if I can pull the SRS ECU Fuse, and safely connect the other dash electrics without the SRS Airbags connected ?
  2. Just in case, can Nanocom Evo II reset SRS faults properly ? (just in case I trigger one)

~~~~~~~~~~~
FYI, I got the heater out and sorted the flap problem. In case anyone is interested, it was nothing to do with flaps & shafts, but actually the main Grey gear that connects directly to the Servo. The spigot that the gear sits on was really tight, even with all flaps disconnected. Careful filing & sanding, plus light grease sorted it out. Now all Blend motors pull 50-100mA when driving the flaps, and peak at 150mA when they stall !!
Thanks,
Pete
If the airbags are disconnected they cannot fire. Nanocom can reset an SRS fault. SRS is a stand alone system so you can plug all the othere stuff in and leave the SRS disconnected no problem, however disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes before doing anything with the SRS per the manual.
You've nothing to worry about if you have the nanocom.
If you put power to the car without the SRS connected, you will bring on the SRS dash light.
You can't stop this but as you have the nanocom, just reset it.
It's near on impossible to fire off an airbag unless you do something stupid like playing with them with the battery connected.
Ended up removing the SRS Fuse for good measure first (will check for faults later). Then connected HEVAC, and also Instrument cluster so the HEVAC lights up !! Reconnected battery, and then connected Nanocom & turned ignition on . . .
Nanocom successfully completed Blend & Distribution calibration, so now I can move the flaps through all positions properly. . . .and no faults ;)
Got new foam rubber adhesive sealing strip from Screwfix for dash & other ducts. Now waiting for O-rings to be delivered . . . . .
Any hints on lubricant or plumbers sealer for O-Rings ?
Absolutely no plumbers sealer:eek: Silicon grease does the job, just a smear on the O rings and tube ends.:)
