Yeah that's it - depending where you got your 300tdi from, Disco or Defender, it might not read correctly.
Not sure why your temp sender was crimped to an alt wire, it should just be a run from the sender directly to the gauge, via a multi-plug on the loom certainly.

Nice one least am looking at right sensor then its a start and ifts from a n reg disco. And not sure a the na engine loom was very bodged wires add on cut every where and crimped to other wires. And twmp sensor was yellow and brown wire if I rember right but was spliced in to low load wire from the altnater. And couldn't understand if it was ment to be like that with the 300tdi

Ok cheers mate will have another look tomorrow. Have you got your 300tdi in your yet thats if was you that was doing the conversion

Got 200 instead so sender from 2.5n/a screws straight in, hoping to get started on it next week
Cant wait to get it done, should be easy having done it before so no surprises.....hopefully

Oh right nice one wish I got a 200tdi now and not a 300tdi lol as everything needs makeing long or modifying to fit. As temp sensor been one and oil cooler pipes need sorting and exhaust next. I have a pic here of the engine in just needs all other it doing to it fuel pipes and soo on
I'm putting Disco gearboxes in as well so no need to modify oil cooler pipes, intercooler pipes, hoses or downpipe (use Disco one) as the engine is further forward.
Just have to lower rad brackets a little and away we go.
