Temp gauge

Only difference between the 1997 and 2001 is they used Green gauges and a "slightly" different graphic..

Wiring is the same IIRC.

If there is no power to the sensor lead the problem will more than likely be in the BECM. The sensor lead feeds the BECM and the BECM feeds the gauge.
 
Look at connector C106, 13 pin black connector under expansion tank, clean contacts on that. Pin 8 (green wire) is the connection, sensor to BECM.

Mate sent me that tip earlier
I have just finished checking that,
It appears it could be there, as connecting and disconnecting that connector makes needle move to end of blue.
So I will clean properly
