hi all,
after a couple of weeks of disco 1 300 tdi ownership i've develpoed my first problem ( i know two weeks is probably quite good between problems ;D ).
since collection the gauge has stayed rockfast in the middle of the gauge , but has just started creeping upto the top of the white section then settling back down to the middle only to rise again a few minutes later ! now i have also noticed that from cold the guage moves to the normal halfway position within a few hundred yards of home !

so is it likely to be the sender at fault ? if so where is it located on the engine ?

regards basil :)

If you still get a problem after checking the sender, check your earth straps.
I had a guage which behaved erratically too, but I noticed (by chance) it was responsive to other electrical systems (for example with the lights on, applying the brakes caused the guage to rise - then fall when off. Hand brake on/off effected it to).
After fitting new engine earth strap everything was fine again.
