Well,

I have had a good look on the RAVE cd in the workshop manual sections and I cannot find anything that mentions bulletins at all.

Does anyone know where to find the details about the boot seal bulletin please?

I've been told on here that there is a 'fix' (in the form of a bulletin) for a leaking boot seal. I have been told above in this thread that the bulletin in question can be found on the rave cd and also in another thread that it can be found in 'workshop manuals' on the rave cd. But I cannot see the bulletin anywhere.

Understand now?

That's because they are not in the workshop manual section. They are on the splash menu choice screen. I have explained in a recent thread how it is done, the bulletins tell you not a lot more than i said in that post.

so you've been searcing for "bulletins" and not for "leaking boot seal" ? and you're surprised you haven't found the answer

No of course not. I have been looking in the bodywork sectionand going right through that to see if there was anything that may have been applicable, and then guessing that there may have been some kind of note at the end of a section on the boot regarding manufacturers afterthought fixes or something.

Thaks for that. But what is the splash menu thingy and where can it be found?

When you start Rave it comes up with Adobe 4 Then goes to a screen with a list of applicable vehicles. Choose Range Rover. You should then get a screen listing Range Rover, Discovery, Freelander Etc. On that screen below the list of vehicles is another list Technical bulletins, Testbook Etc. Select Technical bulletins and search through those.

Many thanks for that. Ah, that's whay I cannot find it - I don't have all of that on my cd. I only have the range rover manuals and PDI booklet etc.
Do you know of a decent place to download the full lot?

This what your looking for?

ACTION:
1. Remove tailgate aperture seal and check flange for irregularities. Carefully
straighten any flange area causing concern and evenly bend entire length of
flange outwards towards tailgate by approximately 5 mm.
2. Obtain new tailgate seal ALR8547. Referring to the illustration on page 2,
measure 520 mm outwards from the lower seal section centre line and mark
seal at these points, measure another 5 mm on from these points and mark
seal again. With a sharp knife carefully cut through the bubble section of seal
at marked points so that a ‘C’ shaped section is removed to form drain slots,
(see inset on illustration).
NOTE: If modification is carried out correctly the drain slots will be hidden
under the tread plate.
3. Fit seal to vehicle confirming that the seal is the correct way up with seal joint
and drain slots at bottom of aperture.
NOTE: To assist seal fitment and to ensure tightness of seal to flange, the
seal should first be heated to approximately 40 0 C. This can be achieved by
placing in an oven or a container of warm water.
