2010, 216,000 miles. Auto.
Seems to make a noise like a turbo wastegate whistler, when the accelerator is released. Like a whistle, but slightly ‘ragged’, descending in pitch, sort of ‘PEWWwwwww’.
It happens when stationary, in park or neutral as well, if I rev and release the engine.
Doing 25mpg, but used to do 30.
Various suggestions online, including transfer box, gearbox, torque converter, VVT hitting limit due to boost leak or boost sensor fault.
