Hi guys, I've posted a couple of times about low volts and gearbox faults on the gm gearbox, iam taking it that the gearbox should have a 12 volt supply in order for the spool valves to work,my box is only getting 11.9, but will change up to third so it's a bit of a head scratcher because if the box isn't getting the right volts why will it change up to 3rd,the only slipping that happens is when it goes into 4 th it will stay in 4 th but if you give it throttle the fail-safes comes on, don't mind having to pull the box but it's only done 25.000, since new tc and re con box by lr dealer,or could this be oil pressure related as well,it did have a broken plug at one of the spool valves which has been repaired.just looking for a bit of knowledge.before I pull the box

I'd say 12 or 11.9 will make no difference, and it isn't necessarliy a voltage problem.
The man who knows is @Bemble

Unlikely I would think, even in manual mode autos usually change down if you labour them too much

No, iam not explaining myself well, when you go through the service your gearbox sequence and you go through the automatic side then you do the manual side I was sure it should go up to top gear to allow everything to fill with oil.cheers

Yeah I knew what you meant. I wouldn't expect it to select a gear that it couldn't then pull away in. Mind you I have only had 1 auto that had a manual option and that wasn't a LR
