No, it's a f***ing great big nut, just use a cold-chisel.If I remember rightly, it's a left-hand thread. On mine I just gave it a sharp tap & it came undone.

it is def NOT a left hand thread on the TD5

Right bit of an update i have changed the belt again for a new one this time,as the one i used was a spare i found when i got the disco (cheapskate)and the noise has now gone all i need to do now is change one of the idler pulleys as this has some play and is noisy glad din't fork out for a power steer pump now.
