Hi chaps, you may have read on one of the other sections of this forum that i had both my land rovers stolen last week. Been speaking to the insurance valuer today, and he's offered me £5500 for the 300TDI county, which was virtually identical to this one:
Land Rover Defender 90 300 Tdi County 1998 R One owner on eBay (end time 27-Apr-10 19:07:45 BST)
I've rang that chap up and £5500 is the reserve on that one so i thought the offer was fair enough.
For the TD5, which was a 1999 van with just 33,000 on the clock and in virtually as new condition, having been used mainly by my late father as a car, he's offered me £6300, i thought that was a bit on the low side, given that he was valuing one two years older with 4 times the miles at just £700 less, what do you chaps think?
The assessor had found one in auto trader for £6150, but it didn't state the mileage and when i found it and rang up about it the bloke was very cagey about it, i didn't think it sounded like a genuine motor at all.
2000 LAND ROVER Defender TD5
This one is 18 months younger, but nearer to mine in mileage and condition:
2001 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 TD5 HARDTOP
He was basically saying that the top book on mine was £6,300, although glasses doesn't really give a price for one at that mileage, i can see some that look a bit doggy for that sort of money and a bit less, but i can't really see many i'd want to own.
