Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to buy the replacement joints for a 1999 td5 '90', rather than the whole shaft and joints?
Cheers

Not really sure what bit you mean, but any parts shop will have ball joints for the drag link or track rod, joint or complete drop arm from steering box, or universal joints for the prop shafts.......

Not expensive, unless you intend buying all of them without checking which it is you need....:D A

Hi Guys, sorry for not being more descriptive.
I've just checked the haynes manual and it looks like it's called the steering column intermediate shaft - when you look under the bonnet it's to the left of the engine and has 2 universal joints top and bottom - thanks Defender Daz!
A mechanic looked at it today after fitting a new part and said that the top joint is knackered - I can see replacements on ebay for around a tenner, but they seem to be pre-97 and I can't find any for the TD5 unless you buy the whole shaft and joints together, which is between £100 and £200, so i was hoping taht you could buy the top universal joint seperately?
Cheers

Doh! Thanks Daz for having the ability to read....... unlike me.....

Glad you are getting there Alb - tho we find our steering columns to the right (proper) side of the engine......;) A

[though you also say as you look under the bionnet ...... I'll get me coat.....]
