I know what you mean. Mine's got a snork too, but my arse was twitching this weekend when i dropped into some deep water on Salisbury Plain ...I was just thinking about that crappy pipework. I think the water must have been very close to that level.. but luckily all was ok. Also worrying was the water that had got into the seat box, my go-faster chip was wet, but the main engine ECU and fuses were dry. Guess I need to seal up that box now with silicone sealant?

Let me know how you get on as im off early tomorrow for the chippy run in dorset

was thinking today not sure its going to be that simple, dont think the snorkel had a pipe to connect to it just sealed to the wing and the crap plastic bit sealed on the inside with a few screws, will have to take it apart and see.

Don't know if you,re aware, but there is a drain hole the size of a 10p at the bottom of the pipe that needs to be sealed before you hit any deep water.

Yeah, mine's blocked off thanks. Did you manage to find a decent hose yet to link the air filter box to the snorkle

Was going to leave it for now, as we are going to Wales next week thought i had better check.Put my hand over pipe and the engine cut out, then i could hear air being sucked in from inside the wing. Now i have to sort it, i bought a mtr of silicone hose cost about £25 now i have got to weld a bit of pipe inside the snorkel flange that i can connect to then decide best place to join up with excisting bits, problem is all the original bits are different sizes, when i get it done will put it up here how i done it.

just been to land rover and got raped for the bit of pipe thats smaller one end than the other that joins to air box cost me £45 i will be interested to see what you use then i can copy:)

Think i've sorted it. stripped all old pipework out, retained the pipe from airbox through to the bit with drain hole, as i needed something to connect too. welded a pipe and blanked off rest of snorkel flange, just connected up to metal flange and plastic pipe and hopefully it will be ok when i refit it tomoorrow.
