Hi there all new to this site and only had my 99 disco td5 for about a year now and allready had a few niggles like a leaking power stearing pump about 3 times now but can change the seals in about 2 hours now :D
leaking sunroofs :(
but now im stuck and in need of some advice if possible
here goes i noticed my rear discs were rather rusty the other day, so whipped the wheels off, brakes off, got the carriers off and they were seized solid and i cant free them at all not even to replace the pins
is there anywhere i can get just the carriers from i've tried ebay for second hand ones but no joy, been searching all day
any help would be greatly appreciated
great site by the way been very helpfull already :D

thanks mate i'll go and have a wee look

Think you might find LR dealers are cheap, strangely enough. I know they sell the calipers seperately for the Rangie so I presume they do the same for the Disco, ie carriers and calipers. Mate just bought a caliper for his Rangie from LR and if I remember rightly it was around £30.

Hang on, I'm puzzled ;-)

Are the calipers seized *to* the carriers, or are the slide pins seized into the carriers?
I managed to heat the pins up and twist them round until they came loose then withdrew them. Put plenty of grease on the new pins before I put them in so hopefully the bores aren't so messed up that they seize again.

I think the LR caliper was about £60 or so from memory - I ordered one from someone else, and a Britpart one arrived that looked like it had been 'machined' with a chisel, so that went straight on fleabay!
