Td5 on bio diesel?

hi everyone, i been reading in different places the horror stories of Td5's not liking "bio diesel" i know you people out there are not daft but bio diesel is not just veggie oil that you tip in, it goes through a complex process that removes different things etc etc, i think whats happened is that just plain veggie oil straight off the shelf has been put in, not bio diesel, i'm no expert but i have read up on this a little and plan to become a small producer, to run my Td5 and 300 tdi discos on, anyone got any views on this? with my limited knowledge i think the 300 will cope ok and i have enough 300 bits floating round my shed to repair it if it does go wrong, however the Td5 is a different beast, no Td5 bits and no software! look forward to your replies!

hi guys to follow this post i am now running our Td5 disco on 100% bio diesel with no difference in performance or economy at all, which means if i can get the oil for free i can fill up for approx 60% the cost!

Very interesting, be nice to see how you get on on a long term basis, how do you make bio diesel then is it a complicated process? Anything that brings the cost of fuel down is good news to Land Rover drivers. Its a bit of a mystery to me though I must admit would like to know more.
