Folks - got the injectors out ready to fit washers but a few daft questions:
1 - should I worry about carbon build up on the tip ? Not clear how many nozzles / holes there should be on each.
2 - What is meant by "injector lobe is at full lift" ? Is this where the cam lobe is at the top or the injector plunger spring is not compressed ?
3 - What is meant by "until the injector plunger is felt to bottom out" ? What is it bottoming out on and how do you tell when you are against spring pressure ?
Thanks in advance.

1. Clean up injector tips as best you can, you won't get them perfect.
2. I take this to mean when the cam is at its highest point and the injector spring is compressed.
3. With the injector spring under maximum compression, screw the adjuster down hard until it will not turn, then back off one complete turn and lock it at that.

Also make sure the injectors are put back in the same cylinder from which they were removed. Once all injectors adjusted turn the engine over by wrench on main pulley a couple of times to make sure nothing is fouling a piston.

What DerekT says. Give the injector tips a squirt of oven cleaner, let them soak for a while, then use a green (or whatever colour you prefer) plastic wash pad to wipe them clean. Dont go poking about with metal implements or using a wire brush to polish them up.
