TD5 Inertia (Crash) Switch

Hi all
If I suspect this is faulty how do I isolate it? Just unplug it??

Will the engine not start? The inertia switch is a normally closed switch and if it's triggered the engine will turn over but it won't start.

You can short it out to bypass it.

Does the intank pump run?
Just put a meter across the pins and check it looking at the dia it would appear it disconnects power to the relay if its activated.
From a 2002 manual.
