TD5 heavy duty steering rod adjustment

Ive just bought a set of paddock solid steering rods PM023 | Heavy Duty Steering Rods for Discovery 2 - with 4 ball joints and have Raved, searched the forum and googled but cant find the measurements to have the steering rods set about right when fitting them. When I had my disco 1 there were measurements between tre centres in Haynes for the two bars to set them up but I dont have a haynes for the td5 and wondered if someone could take 5 mins to have a quick flick through there disco 2 haynes to see if there are any measurements in there for both the rods? Rave says the following procedure assumes correct wheel alignment... not much uses as my truck pulls to the left at the mo Thanks in advance

make them the same length as existing as a rough guide then have garage set properly, its not expensive

Yep thats my plan b johnlad. plan a is to set it up from haynes and have it driving as sweet as my series 1 disco did after I changed the bars on it and that didnt cost owt at the garage

Mmmm, Ive got a split boot on my drag link fixed end, and was going to replace it. Looking at the price of those, I might as well do the lot.

I havnt got a steering guard on my Disco, as i dont really need one, but I did bend an arm years ago on a stump when logging, so for an extra 30 sheets over a standard replacement drag link, thats worth it.

Fitted yesterday in the rain and set up today by the local tyre exhaust centre. £21 all in and it drives like a different truck... It no longer has tight spots when steering, self centers easily when the wheel is released and has stoped the pas groaning when steering. Excelent result
