hi,
i recently bought a 2000 defender 90 that had over heated and the cylinder head was replaced. the landrover was not running. i got the injectors coded at a landrover garage. now it starts after about 15 seconds of turning and when its running there is a big lack in power. i checked the timing a few times thinking there was some thing wrong there ,but its ok.i changed the filter. i am at my wits end. i am think of putting a 300 tdi in , i hope some body might have a answer. thanks

did you get the injector washers replaced and fit new o rings?

Are u sure the timmings ok?....if in doubt get them proffesionaly checked! it may be worth you getting your ecu checked out cous it is possible that some damage to the wires in the engine bay have occured due to heat.
in terms of what engine to put in the front, it depends on what u do with ur landy. if u off road alot and its v muddy nd wet then would suggest a 300tdi cous there are no enigne electics i.e its not run by a ECU and therefore mud and ****ty water will not damage the ECU. but if u want to use it predominatley for road use and minor off road like tracks then a TD5 is much better

thanks going to get the o rings and copper washers in this week end. should know straight away

i checked the timing a few times, and even turned it over by hand, it lined up every time . ill check the ecu and the wires around the engine. thanks again
