Hi all, new to landyzone today. After a bit of help if there's anyone out there who can. Bought my td5 recently trading my older 300 in. Had a few problems with it but most things fixed now apart from a diesel knock when running. From start cold you wouldn't notice any different but after driving for a while this knocking creeps in as if the engine has gone out of time. I found out that the vehicle has had an 04 td5 engine put in(mine is 2000) but just re connected to all existing components. The garage that i took it too says it needs a newer ecu so they can marry up the injectors and that hopefully will solve the problem. Another person said that if it was the ecu from the original 2000 engine then the car wouldn't even start. Really need help with this as don't really want to have to pay out for a new ecu that may not even work.
