somewhere you dont
right this electrics problem has absolutely baffled me.
what happens is when the engine is running if you have sidelights on and foot on the brake. turn the ignition off and keys out and the engine keeps running take foot off brake and/or turn side off engine stops... and if engine off side lights on brake on fuel pump come on but no ignition lights.

so today had to go out with the trailer. plugged trailer electrics and everything fine.. no problems whatsoever ...

im rather confused anyone got any ideas:confused::confused::confused:

Try it with the rear light bulbs disconnected to see if they are shorting to the sidelights and back feeding the dim dip. They may of lost their ground.

If not then disconnect the dim dip relay to see if the fault stops, it may of lost an earth.

Keep is informed

Certainly sounds like an earth is missing somewhere. I dont have a wiring diagram for your vehicle so can't suggest where to start looking. It does sound like your lights/brake lights are back feeding your fuel cut off valve

yeah, they wouldnt work backwards though.
wouldnt have thought it would be them perse, but it may have exacerbated the issue, i changed my stop/tails for LEDs, and this showed up an earth fault, changed them back, it went, the lower amount of power used by the LEDs caused this, cleaned/replaced earths, all fine and dandy.

the extra load of the trailer lights is probably masking the issue, its still there, just not showing, it will eventually tho.
