td5 disco heated front screen not working

hiya, my heated screen doesn't work, have checked the fuses, my boss has had a look as he's an autoelectrician and i just swing on spanners, he thinks it may be the body control unit under the glove box. is this likely to be correct and as that sounds expensive to me is it possible to sympathetically rewire it to bypass the unit? maybe with a timed relay or something? car is a 52 plate by the way. any help apreciated as its cold

Check the connectors under the bonnet, sometimes they don't work, there might be power going there but will stop at the conector, happened to me

think its called the scuttle panel. its the long plastic panel that runs across the bootom of the windscreen. bit fiddly to remove. connectors are behind it.
