Ecu swap works if the 10as is synced or the ecu is immobilised (unlocked).

Swapped it and still stuck at 70 (actually 66), not the ECU.

Is the wastegate supposed to move this easily?:

Checking wastegate on a TD5 - YouTube

My wastegate requires a lot more force to move back and forth with pliers. I am going to disconnect the rod tonight and try to get it moving better.

Question, it is very cold here. If I have some gelled up fuel in the tank I imagine it is possible it would keep the truck from going past a certain speed...but my guess is that the speed would fluctuate.

I am going to put in the winter diesel additive tonight. Thank you guys again for all the help.

Update, I detached the rod and sprayed it again with wd40. The performance is back to normal. Thanks everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. I hadn't noticed the power was off in lower gears but now that is it back to normal I do notice that it was.

Regarding the ecu, the one I swapped in was also remapped. They do normally need to be synced to the injectors and immobiliser.

glad it sorted. i had similar symptoms after having a new clutch fitted.

Luckily it was just the chaps at the garage hadnt connected my boost guage back up so it wasnt boosting.
