TD5 Crankshaft thrust washers

Morning Gents,

Could someone please tell me the thickness of a set of new crankshaft thrust washers (Disco 2). The ones I removed from my TD5 still looks new. So I thought if I measured mine and compared it to new ones and if it is still within limits I can use the old ones ..

Also, once I torqued the main bearing caps, how "free" should I be able to turn the crankshaft? Should it turn freely or with some resistance?

Can't give you the size as I've not built a TD5 bottom end yet but the last 200Tdi I built fairly crude and I wouldn't expect much more from the TD5.
The end float was the thing that surprised me, especially as I generally build motorbike engines.
Slack as a yack I recall.
They are less than a tenner each, is it worth not putting new in if you have the engine stripped?

Problem is that here in South Africa they are not easy to get and those who have want upwards of 25GBP for a set ... ... so I'm trying to save a few quid ... 25GBP of beer goes a long way ...
