So have been experiencing a chirp when turning off the engine & noticed at idle that the crank damper wobbles but the crank pulley itself doesn’t wobble at all. Have checked the 3 bolts which hold the damper to the pulley & there all right. I’m assuming it’s not normal but maybe it is?

Engine is at 203k miles & as far as I’m aware the damper/pulley are original

No wobbling on my damper, just belt required.

You might need to replace damper if wobbles, probably the inside rubber is broken

A chirp on shut down is often a sign that the damper itself has failed. If you remove the belt and the two parts of the damper move in relation to each other then the rubber is no longer doing its job and you need to replace it. We used one from Turner Engineering recently on my son's D90 TD5 as it was known good quality at a reasonable price. Given that replacement is a faff, I would not go for cheap aftermarket.
On a D90 there was good access from the front with the radiator and intercooler removed, with a D2 with aircon and possibly an auto cooler in the mix you may have to go in from the top.
