Hi guys

My 10p TD5 is parked in the same spot every day. Always checked when stone cold the day after driving it.

I've thought recently that the head has got to come off, due to the engine oil level being 10mm above the max on the dipstick and thinking it's cracked with diesel getting into the oil.
Yet today, it's back to where it was when I last serviced it. Bang on the mark!!!

It certainly hasn't burnt it. So what keeps happening here? Because the oil circulation has got to be the same regardless.
Don't really get it??!!

Sounds like pressure in the sump, all the breathers clear? Check if there’s pressure released (chuffing!) if you remove the oil filler cap at idle.

Thanks for the reply. I never thought of it like that, good point. Absolutely no chuffing of out the filler cap or dipstick tube when running. Also Ive replaced the depression control valve in the last couple of thousand miles.
